From 2015 to 2017 I was a graphic designer and later Design Editor on Palos Verdes Peninsula High School’s student-run newspaper The Pen. In both roles I art directed, photographed, and designed materials that were used on the front cover and inside the publication. The designs were treated as visual interpretations of the articles and acquired different methods and styles to communicate the stories effectively. My designs ultimately contributed to the newspaper’s winning of a national award in 2017.
